PREPARE for the BEST

Every Alaskan knows you can only be as spontaneous as you’ve prepared yourself to be. That’s why we’re here to help you think through all the details of your trip.
Come prepared for the best!

What will the weather be like?

Southeast Alaska is considered a temperate rain forest. The best months to visit are May through August when the daylight hours are the longest and the temperatures are the highest. Average normal high temperatures during the months of June and July can range from 65-70 and the low temperatures are usually low 50s. Mornings can be foggy but often will give way to sunny afternoons. It will also depend on where you are located. If the boat is in a secluded cove, the winds will be more moderate and the temperatures warmer.

Is it silly to bring a bathing suit?

You may not want to go for a swim in the ocean, but you may want to bring a bathing suit if you plan to enjoy our hot tub on the flying bridge.

How do I fly into Southeast Alaska?

Alaska Airlines is the major carrier that flies into Southeast. They have daily flights into Juneau, Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, and Sitka. Delta Airlines also has introduced daily flights to Southeast Alaska new this summer. Once your dream itinerary is established, you will be responsible for making your own travel arrangements to meet the boat. We are always here to help if you need assistance.

How do I get to the boat from the airport?

We will arrange transportation for you and your party from the airport to the boat.  One of the crew will meet you at the airport and help you with your luggage.

Can you accommodate special meal requests or dietary restrictions?

We will do our best to accommodate certain meal requests, allergies, and dietary restrictions. Please let us know if you require any accommodations.

What should I bring? What can I expect to find on the boat? (ex. mud boots, rain gear, fishing poles)

We suggest that you bring clothes that can be layered as temperatures will fluctuate with the time of day and various activities. You will want to bring a good camera so that your memories can be documented. We have raingear and a wide variety of warm clothes that you are welcome to borrow. However, we do suggest that you bring a pair of rain boots and/ or hiking boots that are waterproof.

Will I need a fishing license?

You will need to obtain a fishing license. Before we embark on the trip, we will purchase the necessary licenses that you will need for  your stay.

Does the ship have internet? Can I use my cell phone?

The boat will not always have internet and phone access from your personal device. We carry a satellite phone on board and it can be used. There will be intermittent cell phone service dependent on the landscape and your cell service provider. You will be able to access email and phone while in port.
